Plant a redwood

18 years ago, we started a wildly ambitious rescue effort—we bought a California redwood forest away from industrial lumber. At 50k acres, it’s the world’s largest nonprofit redwood forest. Today we continue to pioneer restoration that helps both nature and community rise together.

How many redwood trees?

Your donation to plant a redwood will make an immense difference for the entire ecosystem. As a small thank you, we will print and mail you a certificate.

Nurture an acre for $100 and feel your impact.

We’re launching an innovative program that lets you do more than just plant trees—you’ll help restore and protect a full forest ecosystem. For $100, we'll honor you on our map, you’ll get updates about your acre so you can watch it grow stronger, wilder, and more alive. Choose to renew each year to nurture even more.

Fund a biology breakthrough

We’re raising funds to expand our non-invasive camera network and capture the world’s first recorded coastal sighting of the elusive Pacific Fisher—a threatened species and a rare, climate-sensitive forest carnivore. Confirming its coastal presence would be a scientific breakthrough, reshaping conservation priorities.

Community is a core reason we exist. Our forest is a community hub, a bridge that can bring people together, and a peaceful place for individual communities to experience the forest together.

We employ over 150 people from the Northern California area every year to work on every part of the process.

We do extensive habitat restoration to enable to ecosystem to clean the water system, filtering billions of gallons of drinking water that reaches our communities.

Black bear

We're deeply dedicated to enabling the whole ecosystem to thrive. It's central to our plan to rescuing forests and returning them back to nature.

Black bear

We remove industrial forestry roads and plant as nature would along the rivers, saving hundreds of thousands of tons of sediment from entering the rivers.

Redwoods absorb significant amounts of carbon dioxide, helping to fight climate change and stabilize the atmosphere. Their role in long-term carbon storage makes them vital for global air quality.
