Coverage about us
Plant a redwood

18 years ago, we started a wildly ambitious rescue effort—we bought a California redwood forest away from industrial lumber. At 50k acres, it’s the world’s largest nonprofit redwood forest. Today we continue to pioneer restoration that helps both nature and community rise together.

Our impact

Community is a core reason we exist. Our forest is a community hub, a bridge that can bring people together, and a peaceful place for individual communities to experience the forest together.

Our impact

We employ over 150 people from the Northern California area every year to work on every part of the process.

Our impact

We do extensive habitat restoration to enable to ecosystem to clean the water system, filtering billions of gallons of drinking water that reaches our communities.

Black bear
Our impact

We're deeply dedicated to enabling the whole ecosystem to thrive. It's central to our plan to rescuing forests and returning them back to nature.

Our impact

We remove industrial forestry roads and plant as nature would along the rivers, saving hundreds of thousands of tons of sediment from entering the rivers.

Black bear
Our impact

Redwoods absorb significant amounts of carbon dioxide, helping to fight climate change and stabilize the atmosphere. Their role in long-term carbon storage makes them vital for global air quality.
